Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead

Please Note:
Performances scheduled for February 8 through Sunday, February 10 have been cancelled.

The Back Stage Theatre Company at Farmingdale State College proudly presents Bert V. Royal 's comedy, Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead starting Thursday, February 15 through Sunday, February 17 at 8:00 p.m. in the Little Theatre in Roosevelt Hall. Dog Sees God: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead is a spoof of the Charles Schulz comic strip "Peanuts".

Brought together by the death of their beloved beagle companion, the original "Peanuts Gang" is back after ten years. They are hardly recognizable. The play's website, www.dogseesgod.com, describes them as "teenage and reckless, their minds addled with drugs and hormones, their sex drives understandably in overdrive, coming of age, and coming out in a smart, funny, poetic, irreverent and touching examination of what it means to be on the brink of adulthood in an all too scary grown up world."

The show's ensemble cast includes: a missing pen pal, an abused pianist, a pyromaniac ex-girlfriend, two drunken cheerleaders, a homophobic quarterback, a burned-out Buddhist and a drama queen sister.

The cast includes Scott Johnston of Commack, Jeff Livingston of West Islip, Jeff Borja of West Babylon, Dominique DiNapoli of Farmingville, Suzy Novak of Medford , Jessica Carollo of Wantagh , Donald Hopper of North Babylon, and Kathryn Fusco of Commack . It is directed by Russell Patterson of Farmingdale.

Admission for the general public is $10.00/$5.00 for students and senior citizens. Please note that due to strong sexual and drug references, no one under the age of 16 will be admitted. Tickets may be purchased at the box office on the night of the performance.

For further information and group sales, please contact the Student Activities Office, Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at 934-420-2103.
