Welcome to the School of Engineering Technology

Our academic programs will prepare you to enter a wide variety of technical disciplines. If you would like to use technology to solve practical challenges, we can prepare you for an amazing career. The school offers many specialized majors featuring dedicated faculty with practical expertise. You can find a list of majors here. Your coursework will include hands-on experiences enhanced by instruction in the latest technologies and techniques to acquire real-world experience. In addition, you can participate in applied research projects such as alternative energy sources, material science, advancement manufacturing, sustainability and green building, nanotechnology, computer security and crime investigation, air safety and air traffic control. Mission of the School of Engineering Technology (SET)

The mission of the School of Engineering Technology at Farmingdale State College is to promote the transmission, expansion, and application of technical knowledge through teaching, research, and community service.
The programs offered by the departments prepare technically-oriented professionals for leadership, management, and service positions in industry, business, education, and government. 

Our primary purpose is to provide technology-related undergraduate and continuing professional education programs to support the career goals of individuals entering and advancing in technical and managerial positions at all levels of business, industry, and education. Programs offered by the SET prepare students to be real-life problem solvers in their fields of study so that, upon graduation, they can contribute to the economic vitality of the region, state, and the nation.
