These events are geared towards students with an interest in Entrepreneurship. This is open to students of any major, focus, or department. Are you thinking of starting a Business? Don't know where to start, or how to write a business plan? "Kick-Start Your Business Ideas" workshop and five minute pitches can help you begin to develop your ideas, and help you build the confidence necessary to pitch your ideas at a competitive level. The students have the opportunity to further develop their business ideas to compete in the NYS Business Plan Competition in Spring, 2018.
"Kick-Start" involves two different steps:

  1.  Workshop: Our faculty Advisors will provide the tools necessary to begin to formulate a Business Plan, and they will be available to answer any questions students have pertaining to developing and pitching their ideas. During the workshop students will be able to bounce their new ideas off of the Faculty Advisors in a confidential environment. Students will also be introduced to the NYS Business Plan Competition which will in the Spring Semester. Students will be provided additional information regarding Business Pitches.
  2.  Business Pitches: Students will have five minutes to pitch their Business Ideas to the Faculty Advisors, followed by a brief question and answer. Think of it as an "elevator speech", and be brief and to the point. Please be sure to explain what your idea is specifically, and why is it a profitable venture? Our Faculty Advisors are there to help, so don't be afraid to ask them questions.
