Natural Gas Technician Certificate Program

Interested in a career in the expanding natural gas industry?

Farmingdale State College (SUNY) has partnered with National Grid to offer a Natural Gas Bootcamp certificate program. This 6-week program is targeted towards individuals seeking career opportunities in the growing natural gas industry.

The pre-requisite for this program is EIF. This builds on the Energy Industry Fundamentals credential, serves as an introduction to the Natural Gas Industry and will expose you to the job tasks, work methods and safety practices utilized by various workforce positions in gas construction, maintenance, and customer service. All classes will be taught at the National Grid Melville Learning Center by highly experienced gas industry instructors. The program runs 2 nights a week and one (1) Saturday per month totaling 48 hours of classroom instruction and hands-on practice in state-of-the-art laboratories, and outdoor gas training simulation areas using actual tools of the trade.

We are planning on running the program twice a year. Once in the Spring and once in the Fall, dates are TBD. The class size of each session is limited to 12.

Space in this program is limited, and candidates will be selected on a first come, first served basis.
